Pathology / Etiology Illustration.
Painted in Photoshop and composed in Illustrator.

Kidney Landscape with Nephrons

Pencil on paper.

To properly illustrate disease progression, tissue cubes were designed that would show normal tissue versus progressively more diseased tissue. Although neither illustration was directly used in the final, elements of each were used in the end.

PKD Disease Progression

Pen on paper.

A number of iterations were drafted as as I made decisions about the depth and breadth of content. More specific design choices were made as the written content as well as the specific subtopics regarding PKD were developed during research.

The layout was designed in illustrator, with the hand-drawn elements  This draft went through many iterations as different designs for the layout were considered and adjusted.
